Where in the world is Jeff this week? You might notice that there are no new posts for a few days (as if that’d be a real shock). Well, this time I have an excuse. I’ll be backpacking in the Sierra Minarets… in fact, I’ll be here —
For those who don’t recognize it, that’s 1,000 Island Lake, with Banner Peak in the background. I climbed Banner Peak many years ago, but the area still calls out to me. After a backcountry excursion, we cruise up to Yosemite’s Tuolumne Meadows, then down to the Yosemite Valley and exit westward. It will be a very full week — all the more because I’ll be completely, 100 percent OFFline.

I have took a tour of the 1000 islands a year ago and I really enjoyed it. It is really sireen and beautiful. Hope you have a good time Jeff!
